MST Motorsports Scores Three Podiums at Iron Mine

Rialto, CA (6/01/2018) – ACE Motorsports drivers Brian Willison and Laura Cole scored three third-place finishes during the WORCS Series SXS races at Iron Mine Race Park in Cedar City, UT. Willison and Cole were driving Polaris RZRs in the events.

In Saturday’s SXS 1000 Stock race, Willison got a great start and turned some of his recent bad luck around with a podium finish. He moved to second in points as a result.

“My GBC Tires were hooking up great and my Walker Evans Velocity shocks helped carry me over the whoops sections,” said Willison. “There was a lot of dust out here and fighting through that and all of the carnage and broken cars, I was able to get a good finish. I was railing through these berms and flying through the whoops section as fast as I could, and the Super ATV Rhino 2.0 axles held together great.”

Willison changed the setup on his Polaris for Sunday’s SXS Production Turbo 1000 race and the move paid off. After finishing third, he now sits second in points, just nine points out of the lead.

“I’ve had issues in this class this year, so we made some big changes to the car,” said Willison. “I got out there today and finished third and now I’m only a few points out of the lead, where I belong.”

In the SXS Womens race, Cole finished third. Though she dropped to second in the title chase, with just three points between first and second, and one of the most competitive group of women in recent memory, this championship will come down to the end.

“The Polaris RZR was great,” said Cole. “It was a crazy combination of racing surfaces today and my GBC Tires hooked up great in the dust, mud, and silt. It got pretty whooped out during the last two laps, but my Walker Evans suspension just pushed through. I have the complete Super ATV suspension from my arms to my axles. I’ve had no failures at all. I am running the same setup from last year and it’s still going strong.”

WORCS now heads into its annual summer break. Willison and Cole will use the time to regroup, bring on some new sponsors, and get ready to return to racing in September.

“I’m excited about the break and I’m happy about the way we’re sitting in points right now,” said Willison. “It will be nice to get the cars back together, do some more testing, and look forward to Glen Helen. Gatorwraps will be wrapping our cars and K1 will be doing our race suites during the break.”

Cole and Willison will return to racing after the summer break when WORCS heads to Glen Helen Raceway in Devore, CA. That race is scheduled for September 14-16.
