Willison & Cole Score Podiums at Lake Havasu WORCS

Rialto, CA (3/22/2018) – ACE Motorsports drivers Brian Willison and Laura Cole scored podiums in their respective SXS classes during the WORCS racing weekend at Crazy Horse Campground in Lake Havasu City, AZ. The pair was competing in the doubleheader weekend, driving Polaris RZRs.

The events were run on Saturday and Sunday at the rough and rocky Lake Havasu track as part of the kick off of Spring Break in the area. Cole was competing in one of the series’ toughest classes, SXS Womens. On Saturday, she finished second, and she finished third on Sunday. The two-podium weekend puts here second in points just a single point out of the lead.

“Saturday was a tough race,” explained Cole. “I pulled off the second place despite some stiff competition. The track was a lot of fun, but it was also the roughest I’ve been on this year. The ruts, rocks, and sand were tough. My GBC Tires hooked up with the four-wheel drive on my Polaris and kept me upright in both races, pulling me through the corners and the ruts.”

She was particularly happy to have her Walker Evans Racing shocks dialed in for the event. While many competitors had issues with the rough course, Cole said she had relatively smooth races.

“My car has never felt better,” said Cole. “It works great in the whoops and the turns. I was flat in the corners and over the jumps. The suspension gave me total confidence.”

Also giving her confidence was the support from her ACE Motorsports team. From the pits to the track, the team works with many drivers in the series to make sure they get what they need when they need it.

“ACE Motorsports has a huge support system,” said Cole. “The support we get in the pits from them is phenomenal and we have spotters all over the track. Having everyone out here from the team really pushes us to the finish.”

Willison competed both the SXS Production Turbo and Stock 1000 classes. He finished second and fifth in the Turbo races, and second and fourth in the Stock events. Scoring two podiums on a tough weekend was a nice reward.

“The rocks were tough here,” said Willison. “I got one caught in my wheel and it grinded off my brakes. So I had no brakes halfway through the event, but managed to keep it together to finish second. I was just one second behind in Stock 1000 and only four seconds in Turbo Production.”

Willison was also complimentary of his Walker Evans Shocks, as well as all of the other top components on his car. He was also happy to be competing in Polaris RZRs.

“Both of my Polaris RZRs have never let me down, and I usually run out of talent before the car runs out,” said Willison. “Walker Evans Suspension has helped me out big time this year. PRP seats and harnesses make me feel comfortable and safe in the car. I’m running the GBC Dirt Commanders and they hook up great and help me in the turns. Tire Blocks are huge. I got a pinch flat on Sunday and they saved my race. I had no problems with my Raceline Wheels. I’m also running the Super ATV Rhino 2.0 axles and had zero axle issues. The track was super rough and we were able to salvage some points. Those points will definitely help me in the championship.”

Look for Cole and Willison to be back up front as the WORCS Series next heads to the picturesque dunes of Sand Hollow State Park in Hurricane, UT. That race is scheduled for April 27-29.
